What a wonderful surprise! A quality little Gallery and coffee shop situated amongst farms at the foot of the beautiful Swartberg Mountains. It lies on a stunningly beautiful country road between Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn and is open from 9am to 5pm every day of the week.
You can sit on the sunny stoep while your eyes feast on the view and savour fine coffee or an assortment of teas or sip on homemade lemonade. All the different biscotti, rusks, koeksisters, delicious savoury tarts and chicken pies are homemade and the freshest salad is picked straight from the garden. The surrounding garden is a paradise of plants and flashing birds- a place where heaven begins.
On display in the gallery are deep, meaningful photographs, many in black and white. Beautiful, stylish felted hats will catch your eye. Sculptures and uniquely crafted and wonderful cotton baskets, form a scattered display. Handcrafted hard wood furniture is made in a ‘to die for’ studio on the premises.
A wide variety of postcards of images of the local scenery and people will give you a piece of Kruisrivier to take home with you.
